He was born in 1948 in Denizli. He was graduated from Denizli High School in 1965 and from Izmir Faculty of Economu in 1970.

He has started his business life in 1966 at the ginning factory when he was attending the university. Mehmet Ali Abalıoğlu, who is yet the President of Cafer Sadık Abalıoğlu Holding Inc. Board of Directors, is at the same time the President of Abalıoğlu Cotton Industries Inc.  as well as he is the member of Abalıoğlu Textile Industries Inc., Abalıoğlu Automotive Inc. Board of Directors. He is also the Vice President for Dentaş Packing and Paper Industries Inc. and Dentaş Paper Industries Inc., where as he is the Member of Er-Bakir Electrolytic Copper Products Inc. Board of Directors.

Besides his contributions to Denizli as an industrialist, he has been the pioneer to the foundation of many  civil society organizations which has an important influence on the progress of the soiety.

Mehmet Ali Abalıoğlu, who is the President of Cafer Sadık Abalıoğlu Education and Culture Organization which was founded in 2000, is also one of the founders of Türkiye Education Volunteers Foundation and he has served as the founder member of the mentioned Foundation between years 2000 – 2001.

Mehmet Ali Abalıoğlu, who is married and has three children, can speak English.
